About

Born and raised in rural New Brunswick, Kerstin Wilson grew up learning how to cut trees, harvest mushrooms and track deer. Having also lived in Beijing, Belfast, Budapest and Leeds, Kerstin now calls Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley home. When not writing and recording music as Whale Hum, she returns to practice rural skills, like gardening, brewing beer and shooting guns.

Whale Hum is an effort to integrate song-writing and recording into everyday life. Recorded in old houses in older villages, it reflects and evokes the warmth, fuzz and quiet dreaminess of cold winter nights, walks in the woods and afternoons spent by the river.
